Religious leaders hold incredible power to dictate the norms and expectations of communities. Leaders that teach peace and tolerance create communities of peace and tolerance. Bellwether is working to empower religious leaders to promote freedom of religion or belief.
BADALIKA PROGRAM
The Badalika Program is sponsored by Panzi Hospital Foundation and puts local leaders, doctors, and peacemakers in the homes of hundreds of Congolese. These individuals act as first responders to crisis faced in individuals homes and families. Bellwether is working with Panzi Hospital Foundation to invest more fully in this program and incorporate freedom of religions or belief.
OUR LOCAL PARTNERSHIP
Panzi Hospital was founded by Dr. Denis Mukwege, the 2018 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. Their work is centered on helping survivors of sexual assault participate in a holistic healing model.
